What is an abstract?
An abstract is a full and complete record of all matters filed of public record that affect ownership rights to a particular piece of real property, including, but not limited to, deeds, mortgages, judgments, liens, bankruptcies, divorces and unpaid taxes.

Are there fees involved with obtaining an abstract?
Yes. A licensed abstractor in your county must update the abstract. Each abstractor has their own posted rates that they charge. These rates can be found on the Oklahoma Abstract Board website.
What is included in an abstract?
An abstract states that all of the public record documents concerning the property in question are contained therein.
